Effective selection is an essential starting point for the retention and development of high calibre staff. But putting the wrong people in the wrong jobs can be damaging to clients, work teams and to the organisation’s performance – and to the individual concerned. However, once people have been selected there are plenty of other occasions where effective interviewing skills have a place in getting the best out of the interaction. This highly practical one day workshop provides participants with a practical, systematic framework for selection, appraisal, and counselling – including disciplinary interviews – and an in-depth opportunity to develop their interviewing skills. The approach will be practical with interview exercises and individual feedback and coaching.
Who will benefit • Individuals who want to improve their interviewing skills. • Groups of managers where interviewing people are a key requirement for success.
Why you should attend This course stresses practical application. It gives guidelines on how to prepare and conduct highly effective interviews for recruitment and appraisal interviews, and to be far more precise about how to measure your own effectiveness.

Training Methodology This workshop will be highly participative and your seminar leader will present, guide and facilitate the learning, using a range of methods including discussions, case studies and self-assessment exercises.
