Effective Networking Skills For professional service providers, it is a startling marketing fact that ‘people buy people’. People have business problems and people look for people to solve them. In this technological age the people that succeed will be the people that can talk to other people. This intense and interactive workshop provides you with a wealth of practical ideas to raise your confidence and plan your approach to new people in a range of situations, as well as strategies to start and maintain conversations.
Who should attend • Anyone that gets stuck for something to say to other people. • Everyone who wants to deal with it and improve their personal networking.
Why you should attend Whatever walk of life we pursue, we need to break-the-ice, approach strangers and start, build and maintain conversations. We cannot build business partnerships, strategic alliances, or find work unless we can communicate with others – often complete strangers. Attending this workshop will give you plenty of ideas to help you meet people, engage in conversations, and build business relationships.
What the programme will cover • Why is it so hard? – the 5 blocks to success. • Smoothing the flow – remove the barriers. • Getting yourself motivated – the bonus of being there. • So let’s do it: • Preparation. • Entrance. • Conversation – 7 key strategies. • Etiquette. • Avoiding the pitfalls.
Training Methodology This workshop will be highly participative and your seminar leader will present, guide and facilitate the learning, using a range of methods including discussions, case studies and exercises. Where appropriate, these will include real issues brought to the workshop by delegates. The workshop is backed-up with a full delegate workbook, visual aids, and case material where appropriate.
Workshop Duration Usually one day as a guide although some organisations have benefited from a more intensive half-day programme – with a second day some weeks later to review success thus far and to deal with any issues that occur in practice. Be prepared to be flexible – we are!
Maximum Group Size Ideally, no more than 12 people per workshop but since this event is designed as an in house programme with your key people, it can be adjusted to accommodate your needs.
