Training the Trainer – Essential skills for successful training

The aim is to equip your staff with the necessary skills to undertake well-regarded and successful internal training events for other members of staff. From an appreciation of learning styles, delegates will review various training techniques to understand what is best used, where, and to what effect. The day also aims to help delegate gain an insight in how to evaluate the training process and training programmes.

Who Should Attend
• All those people that have responsibility to train and develop their staff.
• Anyone that thinks training is expensive and needs to explore how to do it themselves.

What the programme will cover
Attached is an example outline plan that can be adapted to suit the needs of the organisation.

At the end of the day you will have:
• A personalised certificate of attendance
• A full and comprehensive workbook
• Copies of all presentation slides
• Learnt:
- how to get an audience ready to learn
- about your own learning style
- how to improve your opportunities to learn
- the three principal training interventions and identified the place for each
- how to evaluate training courses
• Developed the confidence to run your own training courses

Training Methodology
This workshop will be highly participative and your seminar leader will present, guide and facilitate the learning, using a range of methods including discussions, case studies and exercises. Where appropriate, these will include real issues brought to the workshop by delegates.
The workshop is backed-up with a full delegate workbook, visual aids, and case material where appropriate.

Workshop Duration
Usually one day as a guide although some organisations have benefited from a more comprehensive two-day programme – sometimes split over a few weeks as issues that arise on the first day may take a while to resolve internally. Be prepared to be flexible – we are!

Maximum Group Size
Ideally, no more than 12 people per workshop but since this event is designed as an in house programme with your key people, it can be adjusted to accommodate your needs.
